My guess this game was developed years ago (to compete with State Of Decay 1), cancelled, but then fast tracked and launched into a quiet window after Anthem and Fallout 76 performed badly, and ANY game would compete. Some of the graphics are just not finished, fences in mid air with no fence posts. The graphics in this game are not nostalgic, they are unforgivably dated. Visually it has eyeball killing motion blur you can't turn off. The first light post has a disastrous issue with how it lights up. In the first 12 seconds you know something is very wrong with this game. Don't make excuses for the developers, they know what was launched here. In the first 12 seconds you know something is Played on Xbox One X. This game grows on you the more you play. But sill I like the lonely and eerie atmosphere and ambient music. It feels like they spent all their budget on the world. The only thing that is lacking is human NPC's for solo players. Thinking about your strategy to kill the enemy is well rewarded. The destruction mechanics of the robots feels very satisfying and their is plenty of variation in the weaponry. You can travel either on foot or by bicycle and admire the scenery. Between skirmishes this is a relaxing game to play and feels like a holiday simulator. I get the the impression the Swedish military were lavishly funded during the cold war, because the bunkers are on an absolutely vast scale. There is a vast and beautiful open world to explore with a great deal of variation in the landscape. As a solo game I find GZ surprisingly addictive. There is a vast and Still far from finished playing but I am giving this game 75 out of 100. Still far from finished playing but I am giving this game 75 out of 100. If you aren't sure, what until it is on sale. My recommendation: If you like exploring, you should get it. As such, an opportunity has been missed to make this into a great game. In some areas it is also apparent that the developers had more great ideas, but probably no budget to implement them. However, it has been sold as a budget title and so I didn't expect a premium game. Anyhow, the game is enjoyable for me even though it could have been implemented better. That's certainly not what Generation Zero is. Lots of reviews posted here, seem to be from people who were expecting a shooter game with some crafting. You need to play it for a while to get to the better stuff. It should also be noted that the game starts somewhat slow. If you are expecting more shooter like combat, you probably won't like it. So, if you like that, you will like Generation Zero. Overall, this is an exploration game with some crafting and combat. The new patch seems to have fixed some minor gripes like machines glitching through walls. It requires some strategy and you can't just go heads on with most machines. The graphics look great and it really looks like urban Sweden. It requires some I am playing it on XBox One X. It's so simplistic and feels refreshing in contrast to a lot of modern games. When you complete the quest, you get nothing extra other than some XP and the weapon you found. The quests will be something like "a note said people may be at XXX farm, find it" or "find hunter's house and see if they left a weapon behind". There are main story quests and side "world quests". The suspense you feel between encounters is priceless. At times it's very relaxing, other times you realizing you haven't taken a breath in a long time.and then there's the moments where a small dog machine thing came out of nowhere and scares (literally) the crap out of you. No, instead instead you have a slower-paced, mysterious adventure through a massive open world (with zero loading screens.zero loading screens).and it's gorgeous to look at. Don't play this looking for a stop and pop shooter, non-stop action or endless loot crates for completing simple quests. It has a great "classic" game feel to it. Don't play this looking for a stop and pop I have NO idea why someone would rate this game low. I have NO idea why someone would rate this game low.
